QHYCCD cameras designed for astrophotographers include thermoelectrically cooled CMOS and CCD cameras, planetary & guiding cameras, filter wheels, off-axis guiders, a smart polar calibration device (PoleMaster), electric focuser and other accessories.

QHYCCD has designed and manufactured high-quality astrophotography equipment for more than twenty years.  Based on these years of design experience, our cooled astronomical cameras have implemented full frost and dew control solutions. The optical window has a built-in heater to prevent dew formation and the sensor chamber is protected from internal humidity condensation by a desiccant tube accessory included with each camera.

QHYCCD Cameras offer TRUE RAW IMAGE OUTPUT and produce an image comprised of the original signal only, thereby maintaining the maximum flexibility for post-acquisition astronomical image processing programs. By way of comparison, in the typical DSLR implementation there is a RAW image output, but typically it is not completely RAW.  Some evidence of noise reduction and hot pixel removal is still visible on close inspection.  This can have a negative effect on the image for astrophotography such as the “star eater” effect.
