Hi Team,

Last Saturday I found a "Bug" on CCDCap 2.7. We tried to get first light pics with my new QHY9,  we setup the CCDCap to save the files on my USB Memory Stick but when CCDCap tried to save the first file we've got a Failure message/Report. Unfortunately I've got no 3G coverage so we were unable to send the Report. After several attempts we allways get the same Report but on my USB we saw 1 FITT file for each attempt/image. When the sequence finished we found that all saved files were empty with only 3kb.

Obviously we became crazy looking for the problem and ........................ we found it !!! ................. What happened  Huh ............... The USB Memory was full!!! but the CCDCap never said to us e.g.:"that this unit got not enough space to save the files". This only opened a window with a report to send. I encourage you to update the software advising about this when the saving destination unit is full.

I hope to get the bug explained enough and sorry about my English

Kind Regards
Frank

Thanks Tom. To be honest, once you know about it would be enough so maybe a Post advising about this will works until you've got a new Release with this update.

Thanks for your help,

Is there a way in MaxIm 4.xx to have cooling ON by default when you reconnect to the QHY9? Right now when you disconnect from ASCOM QHY9, the camera is still cooling to whatever value you set it with MaxIm. So far so good. When you reconnect the cooling is turned off by default and If you turn it on again it begins to power the TEC from 0%...so it takes like 10min to stabilize again. I don't know if this is a MaxIm or ASCOM QHY9 issue.

When you connect the QHY9 cooling is set by the interface box (check with QHYCCD for the correct value)
When the driver connects, software takes over and by default the driver is set to 30°C (considered off).  Reason for this is that the driver is executed in 'discrete' instances that do not keep running history ie. one use will not keep any temperature settings from an earlier release.

I have been involved in numerous discussions on this toppic and all behaviour has benefits/disadvantages.  This way, at least the sensor will not fogg/freeze or drain your battery in the 10 first minutes of your session.  There are as many arguments against... but I think there is no right or wrong here...

Next to that there was a bug in the implementation of the cooler on/off in Maxim that will be solved in a next release... but will for sure only be available to people with a valid suppor license.

More likely that you select incorrect device in the "Camera Setup" menu. Try to select "0.4 Mpx camera".
Or maybe you trying the new version of CCDCap with old driver.

Если вы говорите по-русски, могу подробней в личку.

Yep,

as indicated, you probably use the QHY6-255 driver which is intended for the same camera fitted with the ICX255 sensor.
the use of the 0.4Mpix camera should solve the issue

CCDCap does not do guiding at this moment.
