problemes with QHY174MMGPS
« on: July 09, 2018, 06:02:05 am »
Hello.

I just received my new camera QHY174GPS.

I have three problems with:

first: in the delivery I found a USB-BLASTER cable with a specific pin. What is this cable for?

then, I have on the camera a big circular spot (like a trace of sucker), it seems to leave with a FLAT, but is this normal?

and finally, more problematic, I have a problem of piloting the time of installation of the camera. (I use PRISM V10) and SHARPCAP:
when I throw a pose of 30seconds, sometimes this one does not go to the end of the countdown and the pose is interrupted before the end.

I tried to change the power of the camera, and the USB cable, but the problem remains the same. What can it come from?

Thank you for your help.

subsiliary question: the time embedded in the image by the GPS is it at the time of shooting directly into the camera? or is it managed by the SHARPCAP software when the image is received?

if it is at the time of shooting, why is the information not displayed on the image with other software?

thank you baucoup for your return.

Yuki

Hi,

1.  USB-BLASTER cable is used for update firmware.

2. If the spot can be eliminated by FLAT, it is no problem. Can you post a picture?

3. Did you update the latest drive and new SDK?

You can use EZCAP_QT or MaxIm DL try again.

4. Sharpcap call window of Time.

Best Regards

Hi,

ok thanks

2. If the spot can be eliminated by FLAT, it is no problem. Can you post a picture?

yes, it seems to me that this is the case ... no problem

3. Did you update the latest drive and new SDK?
yes, the camera is brand new, and it is the latest drivers that are installed

s

You can use EZCAP_QT or MaxIm DL try again.

last night I spared with SHARPCAP. during long exposure, some images are not loaded.

during video acquisition, and even without recording, the camera ended up freezing. and I have to deconect it, then reconect it to make it work again.

...that is problematic.  :'(

I have the same problem that I use the original USB cable with or without extension.

4. Sharpcap call window of Time.

sorry I'm not comfortable in English.

does this mean that the temporal accuracy of SHARPCAP would be the same with any GPS?
in this case what is the interest in a camera with integrated GPS?
but I may be misunderstood ???

Best Regards

Hi,

Please try to capture with another software, I think sharpcap is not suitable for long exposure.

Sharpcap can invoke QHY174 GPS module, so it shows time.

Best Regards

If other software

in fact I realize that the exposure time is not a problem because the images that are imported all arrive with the right exposure time.

I imagine that the camera, thanks to the buffet, resumes a pose before the end of the download, which makes it seem that the exposure time is shorter ...

My only real problem is the crash of the camera after a while. the camera freezes, and no longer accepts any order.

the only solution is to click on "CLOSE CAMERA" and then reconnect.

and it works again .... for a while.

thank you for your help, because I just missed two occultations because of that ...

Hello,

I have a few question and a advising.

How do you connect between the camera and your PC?
Do you use USB Hub?
Do you connect between them by USB 3.0 cable directly?
Do you connect the USB cable to USB 3.0 port of your PC?

What value of "USB Traffic" of SharpCap?
If your PC is not so high speed, the value should be increased.
Please try to change it to max value.

Hello, and thank you for the speed of the answers, this customer service is very appreciable!   ;D

My camera is connected to the computer by your USB3 cable connected directly to the usb3 port of my computer.
(I tried with and without amplified USB extension, but I have the same problem    :(  )

The USB value of Sharpcap is usually 50,
But following these errors I spent 60 (maximum) but no effect  :( .

Should I leave it at 60?

My PC is running Windows 7 and I'm recording on an SSD

it seems to me that the problem arises from the moment I am less than 4 FPS(with maximum r?solution binX2)
Above, I have not seen any problem yet.

thanks again for your help.

Hi,

You can try to replace the latest SDK:http://qhyccd.com/SWHIST_SDK.html

And lease  Right click ? This computer? → ?Manage? → ?Device Manager? → ?Universal Serial Bus
controllers"  Double-click on the ?USB3.0eXtensible Host Controller? → ?Power Management? → deselect ?Allow the computer turn off this device to save power?

Then try again.

About GPS, maybe you have a bad signal.  please put your antenna out of house then try again.

Best Regards

Hello,

I just changed the settings of my host controlers to deselect the option "save power" ....

and have just reinstalled at the last SDK.

but that does not seem to have any effect.  :'(

for the GPS, it is on the telescope, under the sky, but I still have no "locked" and get at best from time to time a "partial date" but most often a "badtimestamps" .. ..

HELPPP ....

Hello,

none of what I try does not work.  :'(
I think the problem is maybe due to a fault of the GPS module.

the equipment being new and under warranty, is it possible to send me another s that can be verified if it comes from that.

if so, do I keep the new one and send you back the defective?

Hi,

Maybe your USB cable or 12V cable is a little loose?

If you use other software does the camera have the same problem?

For GPS, I think the problem is the antenna, maybe keep antenna away from telescope?

um ..

I have the same problem using only the original cable delivered with the camera.

and I have the same problem using the 12V power supply delivered with the camera.

i have the same probem on two different computer. one in W7 an other ine windows 10 ... :-/

I bought this 220V power supply:

https://www.pierro-astro.com/materiel-astronomique/alimentations-piles/alimentation-12v-7a-pour-montures-et-telescopes_detail

can you confirm that it fits well?

I have the same problem that I use PRISM or SHARPCAP.

For the GPS I also tried to position it away from the telescope (but it must work on it otherwise it's stupid!)
in height ... nothing helps. he does not seem to hang the signal.

Hello YUKI. sorry, was going on vacation and did not see your answer.

I have two numbers on my camera:
the 029962 write on the black part just above the ventilation hatch
and the number 100076 on the blue part after "USB3 coldmos camera mono n ?"

on the GPS antenna I have the number 1803.

is it about that?

I come again to test, it still does not work.

Do you think it is possible to send me another GPS antenna to see if the problem comes from the way I suspect?

thank you in advance.

Yuki
