First Test Image of QHY10 - Problem

First Test Image of QHY10 - Problem
« on: October 29, 2014, 01:54:47 am »
Hi,
I just got my QHY10 and excited to get first image but it was end up disappointment. I may be doing something not right and would like to get some help here.

I attached picture of my test image. This is not really focused window. I see top part has no image and bottom part has green image. I took same place with my DSLR which has 36mmx24mm sensor.

I downloaded driver and EzCapture today. So it should be latest version.

Hope I did something wrong and easily fix the issue. Has anyone have any idea?

Thank you for your help.

Hiro.

Forgot to mention about my setup.

Intel Core i5
8GByte Memory
Windows 7 Professional 64bit

With EzCapture, I confirmed cooling is working and temperature was -15C during.

Thanks,

Hiro.

Hello,
Looks the image is not right. Can you post a picture with the software together?

And does the camera move during the exposure?  The ccd sensor is two frame readout and it require the camera and the object no moving during exposure and readout.

Best regards,
Qiu Hongyun

Hi QiuHY,
Thank you for you reply. Camera didn't move since it is on telescope mount.

What do you mean picture with software? Do you want to see screen shot of EzCapture? Bruce mentioned setting of image area of Driver and not sure how can I set it. Can you explain it?

Best,

Hiro.

Here is the screen shot of software. It is morning and things are too bright. I placed black T-Shirt in front of telescope and took a image.

As for Driver, There are two driver, base and io driver. Device manager indicating IO driver but I saw base driver with "!" on it.

1.Uninstall device and uninstall driver installation and delete files which start wtih QHY10.
2.Disconnect CCD and reboot computer.
3.Installed QHY10 driver with installer.
4.Connect USB cable to CCD
5.It installed base driver but has "!" mark on it and EzCapture didn't find camera
*No TEC LED on 201 power supply.
*No LED flash on Camera
6.Perform update driver and manually select QHY10 base driver
7.Device manager indicate it is QHY10 IO Driver and CCD LED flashed.
8.Connected power and TEC LED is on
9.EzCapture found camera and looks operating but got image I posted.
10.Disconnect CCD and re-connect and it will turn on

Should I see Base driver or IO driver? I'm wondering there is issue with driver installation. I downloaded driver again and uninstall driver and re-install it but problem still exist.

Best,

Hiro.

Hello,

it seems the CCD senser has some problems.  Maybe you can try to capture a Dark frame to make sure it.

And you can contact our After-sale maintenance, this is his email box: czb@qhyccd.com

best regards.

Here is 2 min dark image at -15C - screen shot.

There is something wrong and I asked Dealer - Astrofactors - to replace it with new one since I had this problem from beginning.

You can download original fit file from this link.

Green cast at the bottom doesn't looks normal to me. I took picture which is more obvious. Windows is just room light not green.

3sec Exposure, Gain 63, Offset 120, No bin 1x1. Normal speed readout.

yes, it seems the CCD senser has some issues.

you'd better to ask Dealer-Astrofactors to repalce it with a new one.

And this picuture is a screen shot with QHY10, 30 gian, 120 offset and 2013 ms exposure. that is normal.

Hi,
I sent back Camera to Astrofactors. Bruce found that Camera was QHY8 instead of QHY10. He is sending new QHY10 to me. Box is QHY10 but camera was QHY8. This explain the problem. I should have camera soon.
