QHY163M/C camera has a 1/1.8inch, 6mega pixel CMOS sensor.14BIT ADC. Pixel size is 2.4um*2.4um. The maxium frame rate is 50FPS@6mega pixel. It has both mono version and color version. USB3.0 interface, two stage TEC. Readout noise is from 2.4e to 0.9e.

128MB DDR Buffer
No one want to lost frame at long exposure capturing. As the member of QHYCCD high pixel cmos camera, QHY178M/C has the build-in 128MB DDRII image buffer. This buffer has great helping for big image transfer and prevents the frame lost under long exposure.  This buffer also makes the smoothly running on some low speed computer or on the USB2.0 port. With this buffer you can use multiple QHY178 camera on the same one computer and no USB traffic stuck.

Fully Anti-Dew Solution
With more than ten years experience on cooled CCD camera design. QHYCCD applied the fully anti-dew technology to the QHY163 including the fully air proof CMOS chamber with silicon gel tube socket and the CMOS window heater. With these technology you doe not need worry about the dew form on both CMOS sensor and the optic windows, even in a high humidity environment.

Sony's Image Sensor Exmor R is the back-illuminated CMOS image sensor with improved sensitivity and noise reduction - the key factors to enhancing image quality, while radically realigning their fundamental pixel structure from front-illumination to back-illumination. It has retained the advantages of CMOS image sensors such as low power consumption and high-speed operation
With a conventional front-illumination structure, the metal wiring and transistors on the surface of the silicon substrate that form the sensor's light-sensitive area (photo-diode) impede photon gathering carried out by the on-chip lens, and this has also been an important issue in the miniaturization of pixels and widening optical angle response.
A back-illuminated structure minimizes the degradation of sensitivity to optical angle response, while also increasing the amount of light that enters each pixel due to the lack of obstacles such as metal wiring and transistors that have been moved to the reverse of the silicon substrate.
However, compared to conventional front-illuminated structures, back-illuminated structures commonly causes problems such as noise, dark current, defective pixels and color mixture that lead to image degradation and also cause a decrease in the signal-to-noise ratio.
To overcome this Sony has newly developed a unique photo-diode structure and on-chip lens optimized for back-illuminated structures, that achieves a higher sensitivity and a lower random noise without light by reducing noise, dark current and defect pixels compared to the conventional front-illuminated structure. Additionally, Sony's advanced technologies such as high-precision alignment have addressed any color mixture problems.
